Sir Edmund Hillary's State Funeral

I took some time out yesterday to watch Sir Edmund Hillary's State Funeral and wrote the following in my journal;

Big, solemn occasion.
A fitting statement of NZ's love and admiration of a great, great man.

I am amazed by how many people's lives he touched and how many were/are actively helped by him and the Himalayan Fund since he first went to Nepal.

The stories told by his son Peter were fantastic and gave an insight into his family life.

He will be remembered.
